Alyce M. Spruell
4th Congressional District
Alyce M. Spruell has a forty-plus-year practice of law in the Tuscaloosa area in the fields of governmental affairs and compliance, administrative and regulatory law,
employment law, civil litigation, small business, and non-profit law. She also serves as a mediator, arbitrator, and administrative hearing officer. Her career includes
service as president of the Alabama State Bar, member of the Alabama State Bar’s Board of Bar Commissioners, chair of the State Bar Leadership Forum, and in leadership
roles within the Bar’s pro bono programs. She has also served as Director of the Alabama Judicial System’s Administrative Office of Courts and as Director of its Legal
Division; Assistant Dean and Director of Law Development at the University of Alabama School of Law; and pro bono counsel to various non-profit groups serving children
with autism, veterans, and families dealing with cognitive impairments including Alzheimer’s disease.
Spruell joined the ADAH Board of Trustees in 2020 and is a member and former chair of the Committee on Alabama Monument Protection. She earned her bachelor’s degree at
Vanderbilt University and her law degree at the University of Alabama School of Law.
